Hik-Connect accounts
On Mac, iPhone and iPad, Watchpost can connect through a Hik-Connect account. You can save several accounts. The account’s region determines which service receives the sign-in request: International and Russia are separate services.
Use your Hik-Connect credentials here. Your Watchpost account has a separate sign-in. Android does not currently offer Hik-Connect connections or these account screens.
Sign in and choose devices
Section titled “Sign in and choose devices”- Open Add a device and choose the Hik-Connect source.
- Choose a saved account or New Account…. For a new account, enter its email address, phone number or user name, password and region, then choose Sign In.
- Review the returned devices and select the ones to add. After a new sign-in, the form selects the account’s devices; check the selection before continuing.
- Choose their site, whether to show them in Live or Cameras, and the grid stream quality. Confirm the device addition.
A successful new sign-in saves the account immediately. Closing the device form afterwards does not remove that account. Adding devices to the local registry is a separate step; entries already saved for that account stay as they are.
Watchpost keeps the saved password and session in the Apple Keychain. It can reuse a session instead of sending the password on every opening. If the service asks for a picture code after repeated failed passwords or frequent sign-ins, read the error before trying again. This form has no picture-code entry.
Refresh or sign in again
Section titled “Refresh or sign in again”On Mac, choose Devices → Cloud Accounts…. On iPhone or iPad, open Cloud Accounts… from the Devices menu. The Add Device form also has Manage Accounts… for a saved account.
Each account shows its region, sign-in state and the number of devices returned by the service. Refresh asks for the list again; Sign In Again… lets you replace the saved password and retry. A successful account request does not prove that every camera can play video.
If an account no longer lists a device already in your registry, Watchpost shows a warning. Refresh does not automatically delete that local entry. An imported account without a password needs a sign-in before it can provide a working connection.
Accept an invitation or find a serial number
Section titled “Accept an invitation or find a serial number”Open the saved account in Add Device. Invitations from other Hik-Connect accounts appear with Accept. Acceptance changes access in Hik-Connect and selects the device for local addition when it appears in the refreshed list. Finish adding it to Watchpost afterwards.
The serial-number section checks whether a device is free, already in this account, or belongs to another account:
- For a free device, enter the verification code from its label and choose Add to Account. This changes the Hik-Connect account even if you later close the local device form.
- For a device already in your account, select it in the list.
- For another account’s device, request access and wait for its owner to approve. A sent request alone gives no connection.
The verification code is separate from the account password. Repeated wrong codes may block adding the device. On iPhone and iPad, the form also offers serial-number scanning.
Requests and shared access
Section titled “Requests and shared access”Cloud Accounts shows requests from other accounts with approval and refusal actions. Shared With Others opens the owner’s recipients and their rights when the account is online. See Share access to devices for giving access, channel selection and revocation.
Hik-Connect invitations appear in the Hik-Connect device form. Inbox handles Watchpost invitations separately.
Remove an account from this installation
Section titled “Remove an account from this installation”Choose Remove… in Cloud Accounts and review the number of affected devices. Confirmation removes the local account, its saved password and session, and its linked device entries from this installation.
The Hik-Connect account and its server-side sharing remain unchanged. To stop another person’s access, use the sharing controls before removing your local account.
