Camera sets

A camera set is a saved selection of channels for Live on Mac. Use it to group entrances, a particular floor or cameras from several sites. A set changes what you see; it does not create another device connection or move devices between sites.

  1. Include the required devices in Live.
  2. In Live, open View → Set → New Set….
  3. Enter a name and choose a badge and color.
  4. Select channels from the list on the left. Search by channel, device or site. Selecting a device adds or removes its channels together.
  5. Arrange the selected channels on the right and choose the grid layout.
  6. Save the set.

You can also select channels in the sidebar and create a set from their context menu. Add to Set adds them to an existing set.

Choose a set in the Set menu or sidebar. All returns to the full Live view. On Mac, ⌥⌘1 selects All; available numbered shortcuts for saved sets follow the list order.

With a saved set selected, choose Edit Set… to change its name, badge, channels, order or layout. All is the main Live view, so it has no saved-set editor.

A set uses channels already included in Live. Channel visibility and device event subscriptions remain separate from set membership. Switching sets does not start monitoring a device that is kept only in the registry, and a hidden channel stays in the set with a tile that offers to show it.

If a set looks empty or incomplete, check its membership, the device’s inclusion in Live, hidden channels and the grid size.

Choose Delete Set… in its menu or editor and confirm. Devices, cameras and their event history stay as they are. To remove a device from Live or from the registry, use the device list.

This article describes the Mac set editor. Mobile camera grids have their own controls; do not expect the same editor on every platform.
